OUR SELECTION CRITERIA * UNITE SCHOLARS PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Form 4 graduates who ARE admitted into our Unite Scholars & Mentorship Program WILL receive the following as part of THEIR sponsorship package*:

  • All school fees & mandatory “contributions” (e.g. school electricity, exam fees, security, cooks & food, etc.).

  • Uniforms (school, sports, religious outfits, shoes, etc.), all school books & school supplies.

  • All boarding necessities (trunks & padlocks, cleaning materials, mattress, pillow, sheets, mosquito nets, towels, bucket, plates & utensils, etc.)

  • Undergarments, feminine hygiene items and all necessary personal items (for students with special needs, Unite covers all of their unique requirements -- e.g. reading glasses, skin care, medicines, etc.)

  • Health insurance.

  • Transport to and from school and their homes for all school holidays.

  • Transport to and supplies for regular meetings with Unite Mentors over school holidays.

  • Training programs with Unite Mentors and Advisors using the Unite Life Skills & Professional Development Curriculum over school holidays. Transport, lodging & food are all covered.

  • A smartphone (to facilitate learning and communications with our Unite team and mentors) along with airtime and Internet access. A possible laptop.

  • Tutoring support over school holidays as needed and approved.

  • Access to a password-protected Unite scholars website filled with academic resources, networking opportunities, internships and job postings, and more.

  • Volunteering opportunities with our Unite Team to serve their communities and help empower others in need.

  • Educational field trips within Tanzania with Unite Mentors and fellow Unite Scholars.

  • The opportunity to perform and speak at Unite Scholars events in front of international audiences.

  • The opportunity to apply for an interest-free loan for small-business development in support of their families.

  • Modest family assistance for pre-approved and critical needs and expenses.

  • Support, as possible, in attaining professional internships.

* Scholars receive the above mentioned support through their two years of higher secondary education (A-Levels or Form 5 and Form 6) as long as they sign all of our contracts and agreements and willingly and successful comply with the clearly outlined rules and regulations of the program.
